SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA-Working out. For some us, the dreaded sight of the treadmill is enough to stay in those elastic pants.
But what if we told you there was a magic little pill that could keep you fit without having to break a sweat?
Well, according to researchers from the University of Sydney's Charles Perkins Centre in Australia, they're working on an exercise pill that would mimic the body's stages of working out.
So, how does it work?
The pill would activate a certain protein which tricks cells to think they're running low on energy, boosting metabolism and glucose levels.
The goal of the pill is to improve muscle strength and tone, just like pumping iron but without the strenuous activity.
But don't throw out those workout clothes just yet, the pill is still in the developmental phase.
Scientists say this miracle in a bottle could help people with limited mobility, amputees and those with spinal injuries.
Hey, we could even see the end of the obesity epidemic.
Till then, we'll all just have to step away from the pizza and step into those running shoes.
